Release all tension

πŸ”ŠπŸŽΆ HOW TO BELT IN SINGING πŸŽ§πŸŽΌβ¬‡ πŸ”–πŸ–Š ALIGNING YOUR SOUND 🎢🎸 πŸ“πŸŽΉ Season 1. Episode 2. RELEASE ALL TENSION πŸŽ€πŸ“˜ Seriously. These notes will only come if you're totally relaxed. Most people hold unconscious tension on one side more than the other, so shake out your legs, grab your thighs and shake it around (seriously!), and resume the position. Your mind is tension-free, too, right? β—†If you need to, disengage your mind. Find a spot on the wall and think about it. Think about the mere existence of that smudge. Focus on the air in front of you or your finger. It's only when you stop listening to yourself that you can stop that nasty autocorrect inside of you. And for the record, that autocorrect you have isn't any better than your phone's. You sound better when you don't consciously try to change your sound. It needs to be natural! Breathe from diaphragm

πŸ”ŠπŸŽΆ HOW TO BELT IN SINGING πŸŽ§πŸŽΌβ¬‡ πŸ”–πŸ–Š ALIGNING YOUR SOUND 🎢🎸 πŸ“πŸŽΉ Season 1. Episode 2. BREATH FROM DIAPHRAGMπŸŽ€πŸ“˜ Your shoulders shouldn't be doing any work. If you've worked with a coach before, you know they're big on you being centered. That means you are breathing and getting energy from your core. So breathe deep and fill those lungs, you're gonna need that air to power those notes. ●If you're not sure if you're breathing from your diaphragm, try this test: lay down. Place a book on your chest and breathe. If the book is moving, you're not breathing from your diaphragm! Try to keep the book completely, 100% steady. Good posture

πŸ”ŠπŸŽΆ HOW TO BELT IN SINGING πŸŽ§πŸŽΌβ¬‡ πŸ”–πŸ–Š ALIGNING YOUR SOUND 🎢🎸 πŸ“πŸŽΉ Season 1. Episode 1. GOOD POSTURE πŸŽ€πŸ“˜ Have good posture. You wouldn't try to shoot a basketball sitting down on the couch, would you? Well, you could, but the result probably wouldn't be too great. And the exact same thing goes for singing! Hold your head up, place your feet shoulder width apart with one a bit in front of the other, and relax your arms at your sides. Keep that up! β– Be conscious of how you stand. Do you tense up your shoulders or lock your knees out of habit? Do you slouch a little or rest all your weight on one side? These tips may sound nitpicky, but at the end of the day they can be the difference between an okay sound and a great sound. How to belt in singing

πŸ”ŠπŸŽΆ HOW TO BELT IN SINGING πŸŽ§πŸŽΌβ¬‡ ✍ INTRODUCTION ✍ Belting is becoming the norm for what a "good singing voice" sounds like; think Erica Campbell or Ccioma killing those high notes. It's the sound that's dominating musical theatre and the radio charts. And to think it used to be viewed as low-brow and unhealthy! Well, unfortunately, if you do it incorrectly it can be seriously and permanently destructive to your voice, so before you go about working on using your chest voice in your upper register, make sure you're doing it right! Wonderful episodes starts tomorrow. Please stay connected. God bless you

WARM UP πŸ“˜βœ’πŸŽ΅πŸŽ΅ Warm up before every performance. Any time you are going to sing, you should warm up your mouth, jaw, and vocal cords. Perform a few exercises like singing through your scales and trilling your tongue and lips. Work upward through your notes to reach the whistle register. Never jump straight into notes in the whistle register. For live lessons and interactive class join us on whatsapp via https://chat.whatsapp.com/9hF9sLLaQUVJVC0VUNkCol

Talk quietly

πŸ‘‰πŸ½πŸ“–πŸ–Š RIGHT PROJECTION WHILE SINGING WHISTLE REGISTERS 🎼🎡 πŸŽΆπŸ“‹πŸŽ€ PREVENTING VOCAL STRAIN πŸ—£πŸŽ€ πŸ“πŸŽΆ Season 3. Episode 2. TALK QUETLYπŸ“˜βœ’πŸŽ΅πŸŽ΅ Talk quietly before a performance. Talking loudly puts more strain on our vocal cords than talking at a normal volume. If you talk loudly, or talk for a long time, you put extra strain on your vocal cords besides the strain of singing. Don’t talk for long periods of time the day of your ministrations definitely don’t yell. HYDRATE πŸ“˜βœ’πŸŽ΅πŸŽ΅ Hydrate before, during, and after performances. Keep your throat moist when singing in whistle register because the strain is greater than when singing in other ranges. Drink lots of water around your performance. Stay away from alcohol and caffeine before performances because both substances dry out your throat. Stop

πŸ‘‰πŸ½πŸ“–πŸ–Š RIGHT PROJECTION WHILE SINGING WHISTLE REGISTERS 🎼🎡 πŸŽΆπŸ“‹πŸŽ€ IMPROVING YOUR TECHNIQUES πŸ—£πŸŽ€ πŸ“πŸŽΆ Season 2. Episode 3. STOP πŸ“˜βœ’πŸŽ΅πŸŽ΅ Stop if you feel any discomfort, pain, or tickling in your throat. Always practice your whistle register safely. Because your vocal cords are tighter in whistle register than they are at other times, you may strain them as you work on the technique. If at any point your throat starts to feel uncomfortable, STOP immediately. β–ͺTake a break for a while and let your vocal cords rest. Never push past the point when you begin to hurt because you will end up damaging your vocal cords. Ephasize clear vowel sounds

πŸ‘‰πŸ½πŸ“–πŸ–Š RIGHT PROJECTION WHILE SINGING WHISTLE REGISTERS 🎼🎡 πŸŽΆπŸ“‹πŸŽ€ IMPROVING YOUR TECHNIQUES πŸ—£πŸŽ€ πŸ“πŸŽΆ Season 2. Episode 2. EMPHASIZE CLEAR VOWEL SOUNDS πŸ“˜βœ’πŸŽ΅πŸŽ΅ Crisp vowels are important in whistle register like they are in all other ranges. The vowel sounds that you need to master are Ah, as in father, Eh, as in met, Ee as in feet, Oh, as in dome, and Oo, as in shoe. Practice forming these vowel sounds in your whistle register. ●To practice this, look at the lyrics to one of your favorite songs. Make a list of the phrases that contain words with these vowel sounds. Sing those lines entering your whistle register on the words with strong vowel sounds. πŸ‘‰πŸ½πŸ“–πŸ–Š RIGHT PROJECTION WHILE SINGING WHISTLE REGISTERS 🎼🎡 πŸŽΆπŸ“‹πŸŽ€ IMPROVING YOUR TECHNIQUES πŸ—£πŸŽ€ πŸ“πŸŽΆ Season 2. Episode 1. TAKE LESSONS πŸ“˜βœ’πŸŽ΅πŸŽ΅ Whistle register is not a singing style that you can easily learn on your own. In many cases it isn’t safe to try it without proper instruction. If you have a singing coach already, tell them you want to work on your whistle register. Ask them how to improve your technique OR you can also stay connected @ TUNJIFORTRESS to enjoy practical lessons on improving your vocal techniques. β˜…If you don’t have a vocal coach already, search one out who has worked with singers on their whistle register. If they have experience with it, they will be able to give you better advice. For live lessons and interactive class join us on Telegram via https://t.me/joinchat/HX75GgrDht71Bi9HvZhz6w

Regulate air flow

πŸ‘‰πŸ½πŸ“–πŸ–Š RIGHT PROJECTION WHILE SINGING WHISTLE REGISTERS 🎼🎡 πŸŽΆπŸ“‹πŸŽ€POWER BEHIND YOUR VOICE πŸ—£πŸŽ€ πŸ“πŸŽΆ Season 1. Episode 5. REGULATE AIR FLOW πŸ“˜βœ’πŸŽ΅πŸŽ΅ It’s tempting to force a lot of air through your throat at once, but this can damage your vocal cords. Work on developing a continuous airflow from the start of the note to the finish. Mastery of breath management is an important prerequisite for singing in the whistle register. β—†Practice breathing deeply and slowly releasing the air. Let the air out as slowly as possible to increase your endurance. β—†Use this practice technique with a whistle note making it last as long as you can. Keep your chin down

πŸ‘‰πŸ½πŸ“–πŸ–Š RIGHT PROJECTION WHILE SINGING WHISTLE REGISTERS 🎼🎡 πŸŽΆπŸ“‹πŸŽ€POWER BEHIND YOUR VOICE πŸ—£πŸŽ€ πŸ“πŸŽΆ Season 1. Episode 4. KEEP YOUR CHIN DOWN πŸ“˜βœ’πŸŽ΅πŸŽ΅ Singers often raise their chin for more power, but this actually causes damage over time. When you are about to increase your power, keep your chin level. This technique eliminates the strain on your vocal cords, while also adding power to your voice. ●As you work on higher notes and enter the whistle register, notice a natural tendency to lift your chin and actively work against that tendency. It takes practice to retrain yourself, but it increases your power. For live lessons and interactive class join us on Telegram via https://t.me/joinchat/HX75GgrDht71Bi9HvZhz6w

Work on opening your throat as much as possible to let lots of air pass from your lungs out through your mouth. You can open up your throat by dropping your jaw and larynx. Push your tongue forward and widen the space between the back of your tongue and your throat. Resist the temptation to sway, bounce, or walk around. Keep your hands still and don’t fidget. Focus all of your energy on your breathing and your voice. Moving and fidgeting detract from your concentration. Plant your feet and let your arms hang loosely by your sides. Gospel Jaw

πŸŽΆπŸ–‹ HOW TO SING VIBRATO πŸŽ€πŸ—£ 🎢🎹 EXERCISE TO PRODUCE VIBRATO-LIKE SOUND 🎼🎷 🎧🎹 Season 3. Episode 4. GOSPEL JAW 🎢 Don't give yourself "Gospel Jaw." You know those singers whose jaws move up and down with every hint of a vibrato cycle? This isn't how you're supposed to do it, whether you're Tasha cobbs or not. Your jaw should be completely relaxed during singing, along with every other part of your body. So, yes, moving your jaw up and down can mimic that sound, but it's not natural or healthy. β˜…This is often called "Gospel Jaw" because it's seen so prominently with Gospel singers. It's also called "jaw vibrato" as it's not emanating from your vocal folds, it's just vibrato produced with your jaw.
